How do you attach a photograph on a crystal to a memorial?

Although the whole process isn’t overly complicated, it’s worth carrying it out carefully to avoid any unpleasant surprises (such as the photograph falling off due to damp). By following the tips below, you can quickly and effectively mount a crystal photograph onto a stone memorial.

Before attaching the photo on a crystal to the memorial, make sure you have a few essential accessories to hand. First and foremost, you’ll need double-sided tape designed specifically for this purpose (which ensures a durable bond and protects the photograph), as well as a cloth for degreasing the surface. 1. Clean the surface of the monument of dust, grime and other dirt. Use a special degreasing cloth — avoid glass cleaners or other similar cleaning products, as they often leave a protective film behind

2. Remove the protective film from the adhesive strip on the back of the photograph

3. Then position it in your chosen spot on the stone and press down firmly. Make sure to stick the photograph on straight, as it will not be possible to make corrections as you would with liquid adhesives. After 48 hours, the adhesive will reach 90% of its bonding strength.

When mounting onto stands on a horizontal surface, you will need to use an additional mounting plate to ensure an adequate contact surface. The temperature during the mounting of the photograph onto the crystal is also important — it should be above 10 degrees Celsius to allow the adhesive on the tape to bond properly.
